I've been MIA

I'm back!!! I know you've missed me. Ha!

Last week was crazy at busy at work. I haven't had time to do anything. So sorry I left y'all hangin!

Whats been going on in my world you say? Well for starters I got to see all 3 of my bestest friends last week! That rarely ever happens. Wednesday night I met up with Bri & Amy for dinner after work. Bri is newly engaged as I mentioned in this post. So of course we discussed wedding plans! I am so excited for her! I can't wait to do all the fun wedding stuff and see her beautiful self walk down the aisle to marry her prince. Its going to BEAUTIFUL.

This is a picture of all our rings! Amy is top left corner, Bri top right & mine bottom left. All of our rings came from the same jeweler so we thought it would be cool to take a picture of all of them & post it on the jewelers FB page! Amy got engaged/married first an told me about Faith Jewelers in Jacksonville, FL. They are a family owned business. They love their customers & do not over charge you like most of the chain jewelers will. I love them! So we all have rings from there. I love it :)

Saturday I had a best friend date with my bestie Han! (who also has a Faith Jewelers ring! check them out seriously.) We went to the nail salon & did a little shopping. We had lunch at... you'll never guess... Newks! Haha. I know you're prob sick of hearing about that place. But I LOVE it. My Ma came and met us to eat lunch too. It was fun having us three together. Like old times!

This is what married best friends do. Grocery shop together of course! Good times :)

After grocery shopping we went back to my place. Then the real fun started! Hannah was trying to avoid hitting my car with her uncles big truck that she was driving, so she tried to turn around in the back yard. And this is what happened.....

She got stuck. LOL.

The back yard was super wet. Its like a friggin swamp around there even if it rains once. (we are in Florida people) So she called her hubby to come pull her out. Well his 4 wheel drive only works when it wants to on his truck. So it resulted in this.....

His truck got stuck too. & it started pouring! Gotta love FL weather.
So it took my Dad coming to pull Han's hubs truck out, THEN my uncle showed up with his 4X4 truck to pull Hannah out. True country life for ya right here. Its a pretty funny story to tell though! After the fiasco I went to meet Andrew at his parents house. We hung out with them for awhile. It was nice to relax & catch up with them.

Sunday after church we went to our favorite barbeque place ever. Mojo's. So good! We ran into my good friend Laree and her family. Laree & I used to sing together in the church band at my parents church. We both have moved onto new churches. She sang at her church for the first time yesterday. We both agreed its kinda weird singing somewhere else & we fill out of place still. I think its gonna take awhile for us to get used to the change though. Her & I both grew up in the same church. Shes in her late 20s. Both our parents have been at the same church since we were born basically. I started singing with her when I was about 14 I think. So we have sang together for about 10 years. WOW. I feel old. I miss singing with her. & her Dad. Who played guitar and sang in the band. Its so easy to harmonize with someone when you have sang together that long. Its amazing, your voices just begin to match each other over the years. If that makes sense. Hopefully we will get to do some events or something together soon. I need my fix!
Andrew & I took a long nap Sunday afternoon which resulted in staying up too late, which results in being SUPER tired today. But hey its Monday, its to be expected.

I will do my best to not be so MIA this week! Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend! Back to the grind!

Weekend Goodies

We all know what day it is..... The worst day of the week. But hey, at least its almost over!

isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

Welp I completely failed this weekend at being a blogger. I have no pictures to show for it. I know, I suck.

Friday me & the hubs went to dinner with my Ma, Nana & little brother. We went to the mexican restaurant in our little hometown. Its delicious! I think I drank a little too much Pibb Xtra (I'm addicted) though because I ended up staying up late & not sleeping good at all that night. I usually don't drink any caffeine late in the day anymore. When we got home from dinner the best movie of all time was on... What movie you ask? Pitch Perfect of course! I seriously could watch that movie everyday. My inner musical theater nerd wants to jump up & dance around & sing along. But I contain myself.

Saturday the hubs was gone all day helping a friend wire his new house, so I of course do what I usually do, hung out with my Ma. We went to our fave nail salon & got pedi's. I was in desperate need of a pedicure. My heels get so dried out & gross. Anyone else have this problem? If you have any magical remedy's help a girl out. Seriously. After pedi's we went to the dreaded place called Wal Mart. The only good thing about that place is the Great Value Indulgent Trail Mix. You have to try it, its uh-mazing. Then we made our way over to you guessed it, Newks. Our fave. I'm telling you, it will blow your mind. So delish. We did our usual grocery shopping at Publix then headed back home. My hubs didn't get home until about 6:30 so we just decided to have a lazy Saturday night at home. I went an got us a Redbox movie and some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (which was really for me). Andrew only made it through about 5 minutes of the movie then he passed out. Poor thing, he was exhausted.

Sunday I got to go see the movie I have been so excited to see! Like little kid excited! Despicable Me 2! It was hilarious! I love the little minions. & the little girl on the movie Agnes is hilarious. I hope my kid says funny things like her one day. I'm glad Andrew & I decided to do our date night on Sunday night because we only paid $6 a piece for our movie ticket! Y'all that's cheap! It hasn't been that cheap since I was like 15. (wow I sound old....) I was pretty excited about that. So we were able to go to dinner & a movie for under 50 bucks. That is pretty much unheard of, am I right? You will never guess where we went for dinner?!! NEWKS. I know its starting to seem like I have a problem ,but really just go try it then we will talk. & in my defense it was the hubs idea to go there. He was pretty impressed! I was kinda worried he would think it was like "girly food". But he liked it. I love our date nights. We really don't do enough date nights. We go out a lot with our family or friends ,but its rarely ever just us two. I love spending quality time with my hubs. Staying home together is nice too, just have a relaxing night. But going out together is fun too. I think we better get in the habit of more date nights before we start popping out kids, then it will be even harder to plan date nights. Our next date night will include some beach walking. I already informed Andrew. Just so he knows ;)

Hopefully this post wasn't too boring without pics. Hope you had a great weekend!

Friday Letters

Hallelujah its Friday!! Bout time you showed your face around here.

Dear Food,
I've been trying really hard this week to eat better. But you make it so hard! I love chocolate. & Coca Cola. Stop being so irresistible please.

Exactly.

Dear Weekend,
I need you to be REALLY SLOW. I need some relaxation & some good sleep. So take your time.

WORD.
Dear Ma,
When you asked me if we were going to Newks on Saturday what did you think my response would be? "Uh no I don't want to go to my favorite place ever that has the most delicious salad & chicken sandwich I've ever eaten in my life time." NOPE. Those words will never come out my mouth.

I'm obsessed. I know.

Dear Despicable Me 2,
I am so excited to see you this weekend!!! All I can say is you better not disappoint. I don't know how you're going to top the "its so fluffy" moment. But we will see....

Hu-larious
Dear all the talk about Zimmerman,
Can we just let it go? For real? Whats done is done. I'm sick of hearing about it. Find another topic to rant about.

Excuse Madeas french. But for real though.
Dear T. Swift,
I was a big fan of you in your earlier days. Now you're just getting annoying. I feel like you're trying to still be a teeny bopper. Can you get up with your age please?

Not mean. Just constructive criticism Tay.
Dear Corporate People,
How you gonna respond to my email and ask me what you should do? (yeh your read that right a little bit of ghetto came out) You are in our corporate office. You're in a higher position than me. Which means you should know more than me. Which means you make more money than me. If you are gonna ask me questions about how to do YOUR job, Ima need your pay raise too. How bout that?

I can't deal y'all.

& that folks is my Friday Letters. Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend! I know I will!

I'm a little obsessed...

If you have been reading my blog for very long you have probably figured out I'm slightly obsessed with a certain country man.
THE Luke Bryan. Who else?!!

Today is his birthday!!!! 37 years old. I actually didn't find out he was in his 30s until a couple of months ago. I thought he was much younger. Just proves the man works on his figure. :)

& oh does he shake it!

Muscles much? :)

Every girl loves a country man in a button up plaid shirt.

This picture actually reminds me of my husband... I get pics like this from him during hunting season lol

exactly.

He is the only straight man I know who can pull off a V neck shirt

The man has gorgeous teeth!

All I know is his wife better be shakin' it in the kitchen right now & makin' this man a birthday cake!
For more Luke love check out my post here.

Happy birthday to the man Mr. Bryan! :)

Concealed & High Heeled

I need this shirt!!
I mentioned before in this post I was getting my concealed weapons permit. My permit came in the mail about a month ago & then we bought my gun last week. I am pretty excited about it! I finally got to shoot it last night.

& my husband caught this cool shot of me shooting! I was kinda nervous about shooting. I have never shot a hand gun before. I've only shot a rifle once & a BB gun plenty of times. So this was new to me. It kinda felt like the gun was going to come out of my hand. But Andrew said I would get used to it & of course get better at shooting the more I practice. I have to admit I think I'm getting addicted. I've already made myself a "Gunpowder & Lead" board on Pinterest! Ha! My hubs says he will have me wearing camo & killing deer before I know it. I wouldn't take it that far. I might go hunting with him at some point ,but I don't think it will become a hobby of mine. I'd rather go shopping!

This is the kind of gun I got. Kahr CM9

Here are some of my Pinterest finds :)

Hey girl! I need that shirt!

Already scoping out my next gun. I want a revolver. Gotta have some pink on it too. Maybe bigger than this one.

Haha love it!

Exactly.

Do you carry? Do you carry it on you or in your purse? What kind of gun do you have?

I am linking up today!

We were Italian this weekend.....

Its Monday! Again! BOO! It'll be over soon enough though.... Hopefully.

Friday night Andrew & I stayed in an had a relaxing night. I made Lasagna. Its a new recipe of mine, I saw on someones blog. I'm sad to say I can't remember who's blog. Oops. :( But it turned out delicious!! My hubs said it was the best lasagna he's ever had. I love when I get those kinds of compliments from him. :)

Ingredients:

-hamburger meat
-marinara sauce
-lasagna noodles
-a block of cream cheese
-shredded Italian blend cheese
-Italian seasoning

Cook the hamburger meat. Drain the meat, then add in marinara sauce and let simmer for about 10 minutes. I used a jar of marinara sauce and added in some oregano & basil. Gives it a little extra flavor. Cook your lasagna noodles in a boiling pot. I only needed about half the box of noodles, maybe less. When noodles are done drain them, then lay them out on paper towels or a dish cloth. I used paper towels, be careful though the noodles kind of stick to the paper towel sometimes. Spread cream cheese on the noodles. This is the hardest part of the recipe. Cream cheese and noodles just do not agree. But trust me its worth it. Spray your baking dish with Pam. Pour in a layer of the hamburger/sauce mixture, then layer the noodles, then sprinkle the cheese on top of the noodles. & repeat until you fill up your dish. Let the top layer be the sprinkled cheese. Then sprinkle the Italian seasoning on top. Put in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Or long enough to let the cheeses melt. Its done!

It was delish!

Then I did some more cooking on Sunday night. This was a rare occasion for me to cook twice in one weekend. I usually refuse to cook Friday through Saturday.

I made my homemade alfredo sauce for chicken fettuccine. In my husbands words "its like crack..." lol.

Ingredients:

-1 stick of butter
-2 tbsp cream cheese
-1 pint of heavy whipping cream
-3/4 cup of Parmesan cheese
-1 tsp garlic powder or salt
(I also add in a little pepper)

(I didn't say it was healthy at all....lol)

I have had trouble getting the sauce to thicken up. But last night I put the heavy whipping cream in and then the cheese, let this sit for a couple of minutes, then the rest of the ingredients. It seemed thicker than usual. I don't know if putting the cheese in first made the difference or what. It does thicken up once you let it sit for a few minutes also. But its not soupy once you mix it with the noodles and chicken. Its uh-mazing! & so easy.

My crack fettuccine! :)

It's I hate pants Friday!!!!

I mean really? Who around here likes pants? NO ONE.

Especially smack dab in the middle of a FL summer.

Every morning when I have to put the blasted things on...

I am having a full on hate relationship with my pants right now. I have to wear them to work obviously. It would be nice to wear yoga pants to work like Miss Whitney. But I work with a bunch of men & we all know how nice yoga pants make your booty look. I don't need that attention. Or want.

Pants are just so un-comfy! I would rather wear a dress. Now those are comfy. But like I said above, can't wear certain things to work.

The pants might not be so un-comfy if I would eat a little healthier. I'm trying y'all.

Everyday when I get home from work. Just ask my husband.... (we all know he's not complaining)

One day this may present an issue when I have kids & they're old enough to notice mommy has no pants on.

Happy Friday y'all!

Fave's & Not So Fave's.....

I am the queen of trying out different foundations. As I have mentioned here and here before, I have MAJOR oily skin. I take care of my skin like I should. So its not a lack of hygiene. I guess its just my genes. Here are some of the foundations I have tried recently.....

Revlon Colorstay 24 hrs, Combination/Oily skin. $13.49 CVS
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1. $11.99 CVS
Neutrogena Shine Control Liquid Make Up SPF 20. $13.99 Walgreens
Rimmel Clean Finish Matte Foundation. around $4 at Walmart
bareMinerals Matte Foundation. $27.00 Sephora
NYX stay matte but not flat foundation $7.49 Ulta

The Revlon is ok. Its not horrible ,but it doesn't do a good enough job as I need to keep my oily skin at bay.

The Covergirl did nothing for me. I was hoping it would since it had the primer in it. But no such luck.

Neutrogena. Nope. It felt almost too thin or something. I needed better coverage.

Rimmel. The only winner out of the bunch. It goes on pretty thick ,but its the only one that kept my skin shine free for the longest. The only problem is I have the lightest color & its still a little bit too dark. I'm pastey apparently. It has a cool little wand inside of it that is attached to the lid which makes it easy to dab on your face.

Bareminerals. I love how easy it is to put on. Very quick & feels really light weight on. But it would wipe right off with a touch of the finger.

NYX. as I mentioned before I hated it. It just looked like it was sitting in my big pores. Making them even more noticeable.

Do you have any problems with your makeup? Do you have any recommendations for the girl with an oil slick face?

& here are some beauty products I love!

Love this stuff! A basic mascara from Covergirl. It does wonders. $4.99 Ulta
NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm $2.99 CVS. Like a chapstick but with color! Love!
Hard Candy eyeshadow. $6 Walmart ABSOLUTELY LOVE! Very similar to the Naked palette
Covergirl Trublend Mineral Loose Powder $8.99 Ulta. Love! Its really pretty for Summer, it has a little shimmer in it
bareMinerals High Shine eyeshadow $12 Ulta, love the oversized eyeshadow applicator! & the colors are fabulous!

What are some of your faves?

I am linking up today! :)
