Sunday at the Farm

Why yes it is Wednesday! & yes I am just now doing a weekend update post! :)

Sunday my best friend Han & I went to an event in our hometown called "Sunday at the Farm" Market Day at NaVera Farms. I had never even heard about it until one of my co workers told me about it. I thought it would be a cool thing to do on Sunday afternoon just to get out of the house. & it helped that it was absolutely gorgeous weather Sunday! We've had some pretty gloomy days off & on here in FL lately. So the sunshine was nice.

The event had all kinds of vendors who were selling their home made goods/products. There were home made jams, organic honey, crafts, organic baked goods, organic livestock feed, organic fruits & veggies etc! The event was all about educating on organic, natural products & the way the farm cares for their animals & plant life through organic methods. To be honest I really do not have much knowledge on the organic lifestyle ,but this event really sparked my interest.

some of the yummy home made jams! & they even let us do a taste test! :)

Delicious honey! "Stubbees" Check out their Facebook page!

I don't believe the Hawaiian Ice was organic but it was yummy!
Also a product I purchased but forgot take a pic of was Harlows' All Natural spray in Florida Rain scent. (I know I complain about FL rain but this stuff smells amazing!) Check their products out here.

Sunday at the Farm was fun & educational! & I got to spend the afternoon with my best friend Han. (the best part!) Of course Han & I forgot to take a pic together! Oh well, it was an awesome best friend date anyways!

Later Sunday afternoon the Hubs dragged me along to go golfing with him. I say dragged because I wasn't too excited about going because I don't golf. So I thought I would be bored. But I have to say I had a lot of fun. I drove the cart while the Hubs played 18 holes. (see I did pay attention!) I was pretty much his "caddy" (is that how you spell that? lol) I drove him around, kept score & pulled the flag out of the little hole when he went to putt. (I think I said that right? Ya know, golf lingo) It was gorgeous weather outside & it was nice to just spend some quality time with my man. & I caught some pretty awesome shots of my Hubs.

Isn't he the cutest? :)

Pretty cool shot. I caught the club bending.

Practice swings

Swing baby swing!

& I would like to say those bright red organish shorts are courtesy of me. :) He always looks the part when he plays. Now he just has to keep at it & get on the tour so I can quit my job! Ha! & we forgot to take a pic together also. FAIL.

So after all the crazy FL rain on Saturday this past weekend, Sunday turned out to be a nice fun relaxing day!

One of those really awesome weekends...

You ever have one of those really awesome weekends where you don't want them to end? I mean lets be real. We never want the weekend to end. But this past weekend was one of the most relaxing, best weekends I've had in awhile.

It started off Friday night with a little shopping with my Ma. Mostly grocery shopping ,but some leisurely shopping too. :) I had to get some glaze paint for my next furniture painting project I worked on Saturday. So our first stop was the woodwork's store. Next the mall. I found the hubs some really cute sunwashed peachy colored shorts for only $8! Score. I get super excited when I get a good deal.

Saturday morning I slept in a little and then headed to McDonalds in my pjs & no makeup to get myself an iced coffee and an egg & cheese McGriddle. Yum. Don't worry I didn't get out of my car. The only people who saw my bed head & sleepy no make up face were the poor souls working the drive thru.
The hubs left early that morning to go fishing so I had the house to myself. It was nice to sit on the couch and just chill out, drink my coffee & watch my shows.
My little brother had a church softball game at 12:30. I got there a little late. Ya know like 30 to 45 minutes late. I know I know. I am working on it. I'm such a late person. But in my defense I am always on time for work,  I just have to get the other areas of my life on time. After the game I went to the "Chicken House" with my parents & little brother. & I stuck to my healthy eating.  Which is extremely hard going to C House! Its a little barbeque joint in my hometown that has been around forever. It is addicting & delicious!

I was having an awesome hair day on Saturday :)
After lunch I went to parents house to start on my paint project. I am taking the bottom piece of an old china cabinet & painting it an off white color to go in our living room as our tv stand.

It is not finished yet. I have to put the glaze over the white & rough it up a little bit to give it the rustic look. I have to say it was actually pretty relaxing painting on Saturday. The weather was gorgeous & the wind was blowing so it was cool inside the garage. I will post pics of the finished product later.

He's precious <3 br="">
Saturday night the hubs & I went on a little dinner date. It was nice to spend some one on one time with hubs. & get dressed up of course. Nothing better than a relaxing Saturday night with my best friend.

Love my sparkly stack from Saturday night. Watch from Charming Charlie. Bracelets: Bauble Bar, Michael Kors & Juicy Couture.

Sunday afternoon continued the weekend relaxation.

It was def a task to walk over these rocks. #imaklutz

My hubs, his best friend & best friends girlfriend & my Pa in law went to the beach. I'm not exactly sure where we were. I don't know if it would be considered Big or Little Talbot Island. Wherever we were it was perfect. The sun was shining & the wind was blowing off the water so it wasn't hot at all. The boys fished while Katie & I laid out. I need some major sun on my ghostly skin. Not all people from Florida are tan unfortunately. After the beach we went back to Chases house (the hubs bestie) to cook the fish the boys had caught. Fresh fish, mac & cheese, sweet potato fries & the hubs famous jalapeno hush puppies. Definitely did not do the whole healthy eating thing, obviously! But it was delish! Even more delish because the boys cooked it all. :)

Oh yah! Remember this post? Well say hello to Michael :)

I actually got it on sale so what did I do? I bought an MK bracelet too of course! (pictured above)
Big handbags & sparkles are the way to this girls heart. :)

What a fun relaxing weekend! How was your weekend? I hope it was as good as mine!

I've been MIA

I'm back!!! I know you've missed me. Ha!

Last week was crazy at busy at work. I haven't had time to do anything. So sorry I left y'all hangin!

Whats been going on in my world you say? Well for starters I got to see all 3 of my bestest friends last week! That rarely ever happens. Wednesday night I met up with Bri & Amy for dinner after work. Bri is newly engaged as I mentioned in this post. So of course we discussed wedding plans! I am so excited for her! I can't wait to do all the fun wedding stuff and see her beautiful self walk down the aisle to marry her prince. Its going to BEAUTIFUL.

This is a picture of all our rings! Amy is top left corner, Bri top right & mine bottom left. All of our rings came from the same jeweler so we thought it would be cool to take a picture of all of them & post it on the jewelers FB page! Amy got engaged/married first an told me about Faith Jewelers in Jacksonville, FL. They are a family owned business. They love their customers & do not over charge you like most of the chain jewelers will. I love them! So we all have rings from there. I love it :)

Saturday I had a best friend date with my bestie Han! (who also has a Faith Jewelers ring! check them out seriously.) We went to the nail salon & did a little shopping. We had lunch at... you'll never guess... Newks! Haha. I know you're prob sick of hearing about that place. But I LOVE it. My Ma came and met us to eat lunch too. It was fun having us three together. Like old times!

This is what married best friends do. Grocery shop together of course! Good times :)

After grocery shopping we went back to my place. Then the real fun started! Hannah was trying to avoid hitting my car with her uncles big truck that she was driving, so she tried to turn around in the back yard. And this is what happened.....

She got stuck. LOL.

The back yard was super wet. Its like a friggin swamp around there even if it rains once. (we are in Florida people) So she called her hubby to come pull her out. Well his 4 wheel drive only works when it wants to on his truck. So it resulted in this.....

His truck got stuck too. & it started pouring! Gotta love FL weather.
So it took my Dad coming to pull Han's hubs truck out, THEN my uncle showed up with his 4X4 truck to pull Hannah out. True country life for ya right here. Its a pretty funny story to tell though! After the fiasco I went to meet Andrew at his parents house. We hung out with them for awhile. It was nice to relax & catch up with them.

Sunday after church we went to our favorite barbeque place ever. Mojo's. So good! We ran into my good friend Laree and her family. Laree & I used to sing together in the church band at my parents church. We both have moved onto new churches. She sang at her church for the first time yesterday. We both agreed its kinda weird singing somewhere else & we fill out of place still. I think its gonna take awhile for us to get used to the change though. Her & I both grew up in the same church. Shes in her late 20s. Both our parents have been at the same church since we were born basically. I started singing with her when I was about 14 I think. So we have sang together for about 10 years. WOW. I feel old. I miss singing with her. & her Dad. Who played guitar and sang in the band. Its so easy to harmonize with someone when you have sang together that long. Its amazing, your voices just begin to match each other over the years. If that makes sense. Hopefully we will get to do some events or something together soon. I need my fix!
Andrew & I took a long nap Sunday afternoon which resulted in staying up too late, which results in being SUPER tired today. But hey its Monday, its to be expected.

I will do my best to not be so MIA this week! Hope you guys enjoyed your weekend! Back to the grind!

Weekend Goodies

We all know what day it is..... The worst day of the week. But hey, at least its almost over!

isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen?!

Welp I completely failed this weekend at being a blogger. I have no pictures to show for it. I know, I suck.

Friday me & the hubs went to dinner with my Ma, Nana & little brother. We went to the mexican restaurant in our little hometown. Its delicious! I think I drank a little too much Pibb Xtra (I'm addicted) though because I ended up staying up late & not sleeping good at all that night. I usually don't drink any caffeine late in the day anymore. When we got home from dinner the best movie of all time was on... What movie you ask? Pitch Perfect of course! I seriously could watch that movie everyday. My inner musical theater nerd wants to jump up & dance around & sing along. But I contain myself.

Saturday the hubs was gone all day helping a friend wire his new house, so I of course do what I usually do, hung out with my Ma. We went to our fave nail salon & got pedi's. I was in desperate need of a pedicure. My heels get so dried out & gross. Anyone else have this problem? If you have any magical remedy's help a girl out. Seriously. After pedi's we went to the dreaded place called Wal Mart. The only good thing about that place is the Great Value Indulgent Trail Mix. You have to try it, its uh-mazing. Then we made our way over to you guessed it, Newks. Our fave. I'm telling you, it will blow your mind. So delish. We did our usual grocery shopping at Publix then headed back home. My hubs didn't get home until about 6:30 so we just decided to have a lazy Saturday night at home. I went an got us a Redbox movie and some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream (which was really for me). Andrew only made it through about 5 minutes of the movie then he passed out. Poor thing, he was exhausted.

Sunday I got to go see the movie I have been so excited to see! Like little kid excited! Despicable Me 2! It was hilarious! I love the little minions. & the little girl on the movie Agnes is hilarious. I hope my kid says funny things like her one day. I'm glad Andrew & I decided to do our date night on Sunday night because we only paid $6 a piece for our movie ticket! Y'all that's cheap! It hasn't been that cheap since I was like 15. (wow I sound old....) I was pretty excited about that. So we were able to go to dinner & a movie for under 50 bucks. That is pretty much unheard of, am I right? You will never guess where we went for dinner?!! NEWKS. I know its starting to seem like I have a problem ,but really just go try it then we will talk. & in my defense it was the hubs idea to go there. He was pretty impressed! I was kinda worried he would think it was like "girly food". But he liked it. I love our date nights. We really don't do enough date nights. We go out a lot with our family or friends ,but its rarely ever just us two. I love spending quality time with my hubs. Staying home together is nice too, just have a relaxing night. But going out together is fun too. I think we better get in the habit of more date nights before we start popping out kids, then it will be even harder to plan date nights. Our next date night will include some beach walking. I already informed Andrew. Just so he knows ;)

Hopefully this post wasn't too boring without pics. Hope you had a great weekend!

Monday again?!....

Well I'm sure all of you are feeling the same as I am today. The Monday blues. Even more blue after the holiday weekend. I had to work Friday but the weekend still felt a little longer because I got off early Friday. So it was rough getting out of bed today.

Friday night the hubs & I went to his friends house for a fish fry. It was a lot of fun! & I ate a whole lotta food! Too much food. They had fried fish & shrimp, a low country boil, grits, corn on the cob, peach cobbler, banana pudding & homemade macadamia nut cookies. (I may or may not have tried all the desserts...) After we hung out for awhile & stuffed our faces we went back to Andrews parents house. Where we had been staying since Wednesday night. They were out of town so they let us stay. We both passed out shortly after getting home.

Saturday morning Andrew left really early to go to GA to his huntin' camp. They had to look at some new land or something... Ya know man stuff. So I slept in a little and then went early birthday shopping with my Ma. We started off at a little hair salon/boutique, Zans Bazaar, in the small town next to ours. They had all of their jewelry 50% off! Holla!

My new locket & key bracelet from Zans. LOVE.
I also found this deer head. If I wanted a deer head in my house it would be this one. Its fabulous! I'm sure one day I will have a deer in my house, but it wont be pretty like this one. As mentioned above my husband is a hunter...

Saw this & sent it to my hubs. He agreed. I may or may not be a little bossy. Or a control freak. Who knows....

After we left there we headed to our favorite shopping center about 20 minutes from our small town. Ma got to use the Kirklands gift card I gave her for her bday. They were having a big sale! So we got some pretty good deals. Then we made our way to our favorite little eatery which I have mentioned a few times before. (we're a tad obsessed)

After lunch we did some more shopping around & then made our way to the grocery store. I had to do my wifely duties & get my groceries. Saturday night Andrew & I went to his parents house to hang out with them for awhile. They had just got back from West Virginia. My Mom in law brought me back some Fiesta dishes her family had bought me. The Fiesta factory is in WV and they have a big sale twice a year. My kitchen is in red, black & white. I love it! Fiesta dishes are great because you can cook in the oven with them also. Thanks to my Mom in law I'm now hooked on them. :)

Sunday we had lunch at Nanas as usual & we celebrated my Ma's birthday. Shes turning the big 48 tomorrow. My Nana made her a sour cream pound cake, which is UH MAZING! Its an old recipe that was my great grandmas, whom I never got to meet, but her cake is delicious!

My mom & her faces.. lol

The yummy cake!
Sunday afternoon/night the hubs & I took a little snooze together. I washed some clothes & cooked dinner. I like cooking dinner on Sunday nights because its so relaxed. I'm not rushing home from work to cook. We enjoyed our dinner, then laid down to watch a RedBox movie called "Snitch". It had The Rock in it (I forgot his real name?) The movie was pretty good, but made us stay up later. Which made getting up this morning even worse! But we had a fun weekend. Visited our fam's, good food & relaxed a little. It went by way too fast! I'm already ready for next weekend!

How was your weekend?

Can today just not?......

I'm sure most of you are feeling the same way I am today. Its Monday. I'm tired. I need my bed. & to not be at work. I am pretty excited about being off Thursday. But then I have to come back to work on Friday. How sucky is that?!

My weekend was pretty busy & fun!

Friday right after work I got my herrrrs did. Brought back the blonde for the summer. :) I'm lovin' it!

Saturday I spent the day with my parents. We had lunch and went to one of my favorite little boutiques, Classy Crossroads. They have the cutest stuff! Miss Me jeans (which I can't afford right now ,but they're pretty to look at), Judith March dresses, cute boots/jewelry/purses... etc. etc. etc. They have it all! Visit their website here. My mom bought me a bracelet while I was there. Shes the sweetest. It has a big blingy cross on it, forgot to take a picture :(. FAIL!

Saturday night Andrew & I went out with some of our friends, for my friend & hairdresser (whom I talked about here) Kayla's birthday. We went to Cantina Laredo, which was pretty good! I wouldn't say it was out of the park or anything ,but its good. After dinner we all went to the Kilwins ice cream place. It was my first time there. I had chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. UH-MAZING.

Kilwins. They have all kinds of goodies.
outside of Cantina Laredo

Sunday we went to church & I went to my Nanas for lunch. My poor hubs stayed home all afternoon sick. I don't know if he had food poisoning or a bug or something. He is home today still not feeling well. Which made it even harder for me to get out of bed this morning. I wanted to stay and snuggle with him. And I woke up with a major headache. No idea why. But this morning was rough! To say the least.

On the bright side I have a lunch date today with one of my besties whom I haven't seen in a month or so! So I am pretty excited about that. Hope y'all are having a good Monday! As good as a Monday can be, right? :)

Weekend Goodies

Thanks to my "bes fran Han" for sending me this via text this morning :)
Exactly how I felt this morning! & probably looked.

Once again the weekend is over. Always too quickly. But it was fun & relaxing! I had 2 stressful days at work Thursday & Friday. I was filling in for our customer service manager. VERY important job. & I am still in the process of training to cover that position. I just feel lost sometimes, like I don't know what I am doing. & a lot of things kept going wrong those 2 days. So needless to say I was stressed to the max.

When I got home Friday from work my hubs had washed all the dishes & he cooked dinner! He is the best. He cooked his famous burgers as I have mentioned before here. They were delicious as always. :)
The rest of the night we just hung out around the house & relaxed. It was nice.... Its funny how things change so quickly once you settle down with someone and/or get married. We both have agreed we love sitting at home on the weekends sometimes & just spending time with each other. It used to be all about where we going tonight!? Whats everyone doing?! Let's go out!... Now I do love our date nights too ,but sometimes its just nice to not have any plans & do a whole lotta' nothin! (i think this is a sign of getting old....)

Saturday the hubs went golfing with his buddy's and I went to town with my Ma. Our first stop was the nail salon. This girl was majorly over due for a pedi. MAJOR. As you can see in the pic my boy Tony was workin' hard on my feet! He's awesome. He can't speak much English ,but let me tell ya he can give an awesome foot massage.

After our pedi's we went to a new little eatery place Newk's. & OMG it was so good!  I had a small salad with half a sandwich. The "Q" sandwich. I recommend you try it if you have one these near you. It was amazing. & their cups are hard plastic cups that you can take home & reuse. I thought that was pretty cool. (its the little things...) There was an Ulta next door to the restaurant so Ma & I had to stop by. You can read about my disappointing purchases from Ulta here. It started pouring right before we went to leave. So we got a little wet. Gotta love those FL Summer afternoon showers.

Ma & I shopped around a little more then went to Publix to do some grocery shopping. I ended up only spending $48 on groceries! I get excited when that happens. The hubs does too. :)
After grocery shopping we rushed back to my parents house because we had to take my little brother to the eye doc. He had some kind of infection going in his eye. Pretty gross. It turned out he had an allergic reaction to something.
After the doc visit me, Ma, Daddy & my little brother went to eat at Moe's. (i know we did a lot of eating lol) Then we headed to Wal Mart so my parents could do some shopping. I of course bought a couple of things. One being this freakin awesome trail mix! Its so good. I would say its not the healthiest because it has chocolate chips in it, but its better than eating a candy bar. Try it out.

While I was in Wal Mart, I got a call from one of my bestest friends Bri saying she just got engaged!!! OMG I am so excited for her! She deserves it. Her & her fiance' have been together for awhile & they are just perfect together. He is by far the best guy she has ever dated & he is so good to her. Which makes him pass in my book! Bout time too! I love it. I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle & have everything she ever wanted. Every girl deserves their fairy tale.
One of my fave pics of us! With our matching snookie poofs LOL.
& the gorgeous ring! I wish I had a side pic of it too because it is just beautiful. Good job Steve!

After wally world, we met my aunt & uncle at Tutti Fruitti. A frozen yogurt place. It was yummy! I love frozen yogurt too because it doesn't make you feel so full & gross like regular ice cream.

Sunday we did the normal lunch at Nanas & our afternoon nap. More relaxing & sitting around the house. I got some cleaning done too. Which always makes me feel accomplished. (lol) We ended the night watching Sweet Home Alabama which I absolutely love. "Why you wanna marry me anyway? So I can kiss you anytime I want!" Sigh.... I love it. :)

Weekend Goodies

This weekend was a pretty good one! It started off with dinner at Andrews parents house on Friday night. His mom made shepards pie for dinner which is uh-mazing. & an ooey gooey butter cake for dessert. It was even more amazing! We didn't get home until about 11:15. I love spending time with his family. (my family now too!) We always have the best time. We just sit around the table and talk and laugh for hours. Not a lot of familys get to spend time with each other like that. Or want to for that matter!

Saturday was so fun! Me & my bestie Hannah planned a beach day for National Best Friend Day! We met at 9am, got some breakfast on the way, iced up the cooler, got gas and headed to the beach. We made some turtle friends when we first got to the beach! Hannah got up close to a bigger one to take a picture and it started coming at her. I was screaming, lol. Pretty scarey stuff. (ya know since the turtle could've caught up to her and everything...) We laid out on the beach and had major girl talk! It was so relaxing. And hilarious. We always laugh, uncontrollably. We went down to the water a few times and stuck our feet in because it was getting ridiculously hot. I only go about ankle deep in the water. I'm a Floridian but I do not go in the water. I love the water but I'm just scared of whats in the water! I got sunburnt on my back and my feet (again)... Maybe my tan will build up eventually and I will stop burning!...
We were only at the beach for about 3 hours and we decided leaving to go get ice cream was way better. The ice cream was delish at DeNucci's Soft Serve! & a nice place to cool off. (Check them out!)
After our cool down we headed to Publix so I could do some grocery shopping. Han got a few things too. Like some free Milano Cookies, because they were buy 1 get 1 free! And I'm a nice friend so I gave her my free ones :) (your welcome Han!) And I really do not need 2 bags of those delicious cookies at my house.
I love when Han & I get to spend time together. We always have so much to catch up on. We try to plan a hang out at least once a month. We would like for them to be more frequent but there is just so much always going on. I can't wait for another bestie beach day!

Our first smaller turtle friend!
besties!
rinsing off in the nasty showers in the bathroom! the showers outside were broke apparently

After grocery shopping I came home to my hubs and snuggled with him as long as I could before I had to get ready. He was working some overtime Saturday night. Which was only supposed to be from 6-12, but ended up being until 4am. Which means I had to stay at our apartment by myself for part of the night. I am chicken. I tried to stay up as long as I could to wait for him. To avoid trying to fall asleep and freaking myself out by hearing a noise or something. I made it until 1:30 then conked out. That is late for me. I am not much of a night owl the older I get. (ya know cause 24 is old and everything..) But I survived.
Before all of that I went to my little cousin Gavins 6th bday party with my parents. He is too cute! As you can see below. He had Tomater at his party! (if you don't know who Tomater is, tisk tisk) How cool is that? He was loving it.We got to see some of our family and I got to spend time with my parents and little brother. After the party I went with my parents for their weekly Walmart trip. It was fun, like old times before I got married. I bought myself some Jergens self tanning lotion. It is supposed to gradually give you a tan. So we will see how that turns out.
After Walmart we went back to my parents house. I showed my mom my Trash the Dress pictures I just got back this weekend from my wedding photographer. I will post those soon! Me & Mom sat around and played online and just hung out. It was nice. My Dad was in and out of the house, running around like he usually does. He can't sit still for very long. Then he was boasting to me about some bread he found that only has 13 grams of carbs in 2 slices. He trys to be a health nut, but we all know he drinks Cokes and eats junk food all day in his work truck. My brother was glued to his video game with his ear phones in. (he's at that angsty teenager stage) I cherish anytime I get to spend with my family. Even if it is just a trip to Walmart or hanging out at the house.

He had a cake that looked like dirt with a big truck on top! How cute!

See, hes a cutie :)
My mom & me with Tomater!
Sunday my hubs & I slept in. I know bad, we skipped church. But there was no way he was getting up when he didn't get home until 4 and I don't like going with out him. So we had a lazy day. We went to my Nanas for lunch as usual. Had some of her yummy southern food she always whips up & spent time with some of the fam. After that we came back home and took a nap (a Sunday ritual). Ate some dinner & watched a Redbox movie. It was nice having a lazy afternoon/night with my love. They are my fave. :)

Now if only this work week would scoot on by for the next fun summer weekend!
