Daddy

my absolute favorite pic of us, besides my wedding pics of us

Baby me & Daddy
Of course I had to post some pics to celebrate my Daddy for Fathers Day. I failed once again, to get a picture of us together on Fathers Day. Oops. I love my Daddy. Hes the most genuine person I know. If I could even have an ounce of the compassion & love he has for people I would be doing fantastic. He is a giver. The nicest guy you will ever meet. Funny. Hardworking. Faithful. ETC ETC ETC. There aren't enough good things I can say about my Daddy. I couldn't imagine having any better man to be my Dad. Hes the best :)

Sometimes I get a little crafty

If you remember in this post, I mentioned I was working on a paint project. I found this cabinet at a Goodwill store. Its actually a china cabinet but I just wanted the bottom piece. We are going to put it in our living room for a tv stand.

Before picture

The finished product! Used Country White color with Glaze Effects over it to give it the rustic look.

You will notice between the doors there is a piece missing. I painted the wrong side of the wood so I had to take it off and paint it obviously. It only took me 3 months to finish it! Ha! I have been slacking! I am one of those people who gets these big DIY ideas but by the end of it I no longer have any excitement. I just want to get it done. Have you done any DIYs lately? How do you handle them?

FINALLY getting some engagement/wedding pictures ready to put up! Only 1 1/2 years late. I am going to make a picture wall in our bedroom. I love these rustic frames. I found 2 of them at Kirklands a few months ago. Then I found more at a Bealls Outlet in Daytona Beach on vacation. Super excited to hang these!

nothing to do with my crafting just love this pic :)
Saturday night my hubs was working overtime so I went out to dinner with my parents & little brother. We were riding around San Marco area in Jacksonville. Had to take this picture of the St Johns River. San Marco has gorgeous old houses. It was nice to ride around & just sight see (even though I've been living right outside of Jacksonville my whole life)

Hope you have a happy Wednesday! :)

A little somethin' for your Monday

I don't know how many of you follow devotionals online, I have a few. Proverbs 31 Ministries and She Reads Truth both have the option of signing up for devotionals to be sent to your email. I would say the Proverbs 31 devotionals are geared more towards 30+ women and/or Moms. She Reads Truth for women in general but maybe more towards 20 somethings.

I have been keeping up with the Prov 31 for some years now. Even though I am not over 30 or a mom I still feel like I relate pretty well to them. Even more so now that I am married. I like the ones that relate to Moms. Like this one I read today. I feel like it gives me a little peek into the world of motherhood. & maybe some advice I can save in my journal for the future.(ya know whenever I get off the no baby train)

This post I read was more than just about motherhood. It was about how women in general think that they can do it all! The problem with that is when you try "to be good at all things,  you miss the joy of the small things." As women we want to be good at everything! We burn ourselves out sometimes trying to keep up. We fall into the trap of comparison. There is nothing wrong with wanting to learn something new & improve your skills/talents. But don't let it consume you that you have to be a pro at everything.

Whatever your talent & gifts are use them. Be proud of them. Enjoy them. Don't compare & get down on yourself, wishing you could do like someone else. The world needs writers, bakers, singers, encouragers etc. We all have our place somewhere in this world. & using our gifts for the better makes the world a little brighter.
