"It’s actually more acceptable to insult your body than to praise it..."

How sad is that?.... But so true. Am I right? Take a second and think how many times a day you critique yourself in the mirror.... Or you think "only if I could lose this much more weight"...... "I hate the way I look today"... "if I could look like that I would be happy".... I know I am guilty of these on a daily basis. As women we are always comparing ourselves to other women. We constantly are thinking about how we look. We are more than likely bashing ourselves in our inner monologue that plays out all day.

Glamour recently did a study on women and body image. They found that 97% of women will be cruel to their bodies today. "Our research found that, on average, women have 13 negative body thoughts daily-nearly one for every waking our."...  How did this happen?! How did we become so down on ourselves? You could blame the media, Hollywood's obsession with being thin... Our society has become OBSESSED with media. TV, the movies, social media, magazines etc. & out of every media source comes the story of how this star keeps in tip top shape, how she immediately bounced back from having a baby, the next fad diet etc etc etc. Its everywhere. Body image is always right in our face. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being health conscious, exercising, healthy eating etc. We should be concerned with these things. You should always be striving to improve yourself, your lifestyle. But when it becomes an unhealthy obsession, when you are constantly critiquing yourself which turns into bashing yourself, something needs to change.

Lets start appreciating our bodies. The female body is amazing. I mean come on, we birth children! Stop yourself when you have those inner self bashing thoughts. Take care of your body. Check yourself out in the mirror and say "Dang girl you look good today!" Be confident! Just be nicer to yourself, to your body. You do not have to be a size 2 to be beautiful. You do not have to have perfect hair, perfect skin, the perfect outfit. There is no such thing as perfect! Just be yourself. Be your own kind of beautiful.

Christmas in September?...........

Christmas is only like 97 days away people! (for real, just ask Google)

Seriously this year has gone by entirely too fast. I bought my first Christmas gift yesterday.... I know super early. But I had to get it before it was gone. Christmas is my most favorite part of the year. Besides my birthday of course! I love the decorations, the cold weather (ya know if us Floridians are lucky enough to get some chilly weather) & the family time. I LOVE buying gifts for people. I'm a shopaholic so I get a thrill out of anything that involves shopping. Its my high. (I know I need help, don't judge me) Now don't get me wrong I know what Christmas is really about. Jesus. Bottom line. But I enjoy all the other good stuffs that come along with the season too.

So I thought I would just go ahead and share my Christmas list with the world.... So feel free to send me a gift or $$$. I take either. ;) (also this if for my mom and husband to see hint hint...)

The Rules of Monday

Well look who is actually taking part in the blog world today...... I have seriously been MIA. I really have no explanation for my absence. Besides blogging hasn't been at the top of my To Do List lately. (I have an actual list... like for real) Anywho.... I'm giving you what should be "The Rules of Monday" today...

Rule #1: Do not speak to me before 10AM

I despise morning time, as I have mentioned before. & one thing I cannot stand more than anything is when I come into work (especially on a Monday) and everyone wants to talk to me. (& if they're perky it makes it even worse!) Ask me how my weekend was, etc. I DO NOT WANT TO TALK TO YOU. I am not even awake yet. I know you can clearly read that on my face. So why are you even trying? Please do not speak to me until after 10AM. Except a "good morning", I can handle that.

Rule #2: Do not expect me to do anything that requires a lot of thought process

I am simply here to do my job and go home. Please do not ask me a million questions. Do not expect me to do any major problem solving on Mondays. Its just not gonna happen. Ask me on Tuesday. But only after 10AM...

Rule #3: Do not give me attitude

You will never get very far with me if you try to "get smart" with me. For instance if you need something "right away", a failure to plan ahead on your part does not mean an emergency on mine. If there is one thing I am not a procrastinator about, its my job. Everything else yes. But not my work. I like to get stuff done and have everything in order. So when you bring me a project that needs to be done "right now" and I'm in the middle of trying to get my stuff done. I am immediately irritated. & add an attitude on top of that! Oooo honey. You best step back!

Rule #4 Do not ask stupid questions

I can't stand when people ask me constantly where one of my co workers is, who works in the office next to me. & they look at me like I'm stupid when I say I don't know. Did you think maybe shes in the bathroom? Or down the hallway talking to someone more important than you....  I AM NOT MY CO WORKERS KEEPER. DO NOT ASK ME STUPID QUESTIONS. We could talk about this subject for days... The stupidity is endless.

Rule #5 No working on Mondays (at least it should be a real life rule)

Whoever came up with the idea of 5 day work weeks and only 2 day weekends is an idiot! We should at least have 3 day weekends. Saturday through Monday. Mondays would be so much more enjoyable if they were a part of the weekend. Don't you think so?

& that is the end of my Monday rant folks. I know you're probably feeling the same way I am. So enjoy! :)
