My 5 favorite things today....

1. That its Friday y'all!

Who's ready for the weekend?! I know I am! I cannot wait to sleep in. My hubs & I have planned to have a relaxing day together tomorrow. We don't get very many of these because something is always going on. I thought it would be easier to make time for each other after we got married.... Oh was I wrong! Its way harder. We both have full time jobs. Ive been doing a boot camp work out class 2 nights a week. He has school 2 nights a week. Church. Laundry. Cooking. Cleaning. Dishes. Sleeping. Trying to find time to spend with our families. ETC ETC ETC! You know what I mean. Life gets crazy. So back to my original point... Its about to be a relaxing weekend. That is my most favorite thing today.

2. NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm

NYC Cosmetics

I bought this lip balm on a whim from Target one night. I LOVE IT! It has the texture of chapstick but with color too! It adds some color & moisture! I have the color on the far left. Its only around 2 bucks!
Cute & cheap :)

3. Targets Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Tee's!

Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors V Neck Tee - Assorted Colors Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Scoop Neck Tee - Assorted Colors

I love these shirts! I just bought some last weekend in Daytona on vaca with my fam.(You can read all about my vaca here.) I needed some new shirts for work. Most of the clothes I have right now are winter clothes. I have summer tank tops and such, but I do not wear those to work. There is too many men folk around, I don't want their attention. & our dress code is very laid back, we can wear jeans, so I don't put too much effort into my work wardrobe. But these are light weight, cute & comfy! & cheap! They were on sale for $8. You can find them here.
Obviously I like cheap.

4. McDonalds Frappe's!

YUM!

These little things are yum! I used to be a big Starbucks fan. I always got the caramel frappacino. I love the java chip one too. But over time I haven't been going there as much. Then I discovered these frappe's! All of them are good. There is a chocolate chip frappe also besides the caramel & mocha. Now of course they aren't good for you at all! But they're a nice treat when you need your fix. (or maybe you're like me & you struggle to stifle that fix every freakin' day of your life!!!) If you're looking for a stronger coffee taste, you probably want to stick with Starbucks. These are more sweet than anything. Which is what I like. (as I mentioned above ::sigh::....)
Also they have a little sticker on the side of the cups you can keep & if you get 4 stickers your get a free medium frappe! Pretty awesome. Where's those kinds of deals at SBucks?!

5. Saute' Express

Ladies I'm about to make your life a whole lot easier! This stuff is awesome! My Ma told me about these nifty little things. (Thanks Ma!) The box comes with 6 squares. You throw one of the cubes in the skillet and let it melt some then throw in your chicken, shrimp or whatever. & the chicken will suck up the juices! Then VOILA! Delicious.
We've used this for chicken/shrimp to go in alfredo or caesar salad. I like my chicken to have a little extra flavor besides just salt & pepper. & this is so easy to use. I'm wondering if you could saute' some veggies in it too? Haven't tried that yet. They have a few different flavors.
I will say the sodium content is kinda high on this stuff. So I don't recommend using it all the time. But its good in moderation!
& you can get a coupon off their site here!

TGIF! I hope you enjoy your weekend. I know I will! :)

Wildcard Wednesday

I am jumping on this Wildcard Wednesday train!
I'm a brand new blogger, so hopefully this will help me link up with some great blog pals.
Patting myself on the back for figuring out how to get the Wildcard Wednesday button in this blog. LOL
Obviously I am still learning the ropes on this whole blogging thing!

ipsy

Who loves beauty products?! This girl right here does! I mean what girly girl doesn't?
Seriously, I REALLY like beauty products. Just ask my best friend Han, she was with me when I went on a major splurge in Sephora a couple years ago with some of my tax return money. I was in heaven!

ipsy is a website you can create a personal account on & sign up to receive the monthly "Glam Bag". I first found out about it from my friend Ashley (check out her shop Colies) via her Instagram. She posted a pic of her May Glam Bag & I was curious! So I started looking around the website. It has reviews of all kinds of beauty products. Its a fun site! & the monthly Glam Bag is only $10 a month! That is cheap y'all!

The products in my May Glam Bag are:

Anastasia brow gel

Zoya nail polish

Pacifica tahitian gardenia perfume roll on

Mirabella colour sheers lipstick

Yaby concealer refill

& of course the bag itself!

I was pretty excited about the concealer! I really needed some lighter concealer, I just hadn't made it to Ulta to get any.
I was iffy about the lipstick at first because it was such a bright pink color. I usually stick to more natural color lipsticks or glosses. But I tried it and put a little gloss over it & loved it! I asked Andrew if it was too bright, he said no, so I'm taking his word for it!
I did not like the smell of the perfume. It smelled like old lady perfume. I gave it to my mom ( no offense Ma!) ,but I really didn't think she would really like it either. Shes pretty hip on perfumes, we usually like the same things. I also gave her the brow gel because I don't really need it. She has eyebrow issues so I knew she would love it. (no offense again LOL)
& I wish you could opt out for certain products, like the nail polish. I DO NOT paint my own nails or toe nails. If I even attempt to do it they end up looking like a 5 year old did it! & I would rather go to the nail salon to get them done anyways! I love being pampered.

All in all the Glam Bag is just fun! I love getting stuff in the mail too. It feels like Christmas!
So check it out!

Memorial Day Weekend

Every Memorial Day my family goes to Daytona Beach which is only about 1 1/2 hour from where we live. The company my Dad works for owns a hotel there & he can get us a free room. Pretty awesome!

You will notice there are no pictures of my Brother or Dad. They aren't really beach goers. I know! Who doesn't like the beach?! They were bums & stayed up at the hotel. My Ma & I soaked up some major sun though! We are some serious beach bums!

I got somewhat sunburnt. I say somewhat because I'm like splotchy burnt. Only certain spots on my body got burnt. You can see my poor little foot in this picture has a big burnt spot. I don't know how that happened?! You'd think I'd be a pro at putting sunscreen on since I'm a Floridian & all. Oh well! Laying on the beach for 2 days was worth the burn!

(ignore the different sized pictures... I'm not a pro at this.. lol)

When I got home, my hubs & I went to his parents house for a cook out. His Dad can do some serious grillin'! He's awesome! I love his family. I love when we get to spend time with them.
Andrew (my hubs) & his Dad were hitting golf balls around in the yard while we were there. Andrew has been playing a lot of gold lately since its warmer weather. Hes pretty good supposedly. I say supposedly because I have no idea how to play so I just take his word for it! So he got the idea to try to teach me how to hit the ball. Now when I say I am not athletic, I mean I am not athletic like AT ALL. So I knew it would be a challenge. LOL. But I actually wasn't terrible! Andrew told me to hit the ball like he just told me to get in the kitchen an do those dishes! Haha. He knows me so well, that's definitely motivation to hit harder! But I don't believe I'll be playing any golf anytime soon... Lets be real. I'd rather go shopping.

Being with my family this weekend really made me miss them after it was over though. Don't get me wrong, I love being married, I love my husband. He is the best thing to ever happen to me & marriage has been a blast with him! But still, growing up & moving out of my parents house was pretty hard for me. & I didn't realize how important family time was until after I moved out. Or I guess I knew, but I didn't appreciate that time as much as I should've. I do live close to my family though, so I still get to see them a lot. I am very blessed.

Besides the mini vaca I got this 3 day holiday weekend. The weekend is really about Memorial Day. A day to honor the men & women who have fallen to serve our country. Our country is pretty screwed up right now & our future is kinda scary to look at but I still love it. It's my home. It's still the only place I want to live.

#SheReadsTruth

Source: Google

I have been reading the "She Reads Truth: Prayer in the Bible" devotion on the
Bible app on my phone. I love it because its so easily accessible. You know us
"Y Generationers" (I know, not a word) are all about the technology & immediate
access. I found about the She Reads Truth series through this blog.
She brought up in one her post how most women's devotionals are usually cheesy.
Her words exactly "Great another cheesy, feel-good study for women that compares
God’s loves to household chores." But then she decided to give She Reads Truth a
chance & loved it!
I felt the same way with all the dating devotionals, classes etc they
did when I was in my late teens, early 20s (still early 20s!), before I met my
husband. They were so over done! I mean I get what they were trying to do. But
SERIOUSLY!
I don't know if you have the same problem I do but I struggle with finding the
time to do a devotion. Or should I say making the time to do it. Most of the
time I am reading it on my phone in the car in the parking lot before work or on
my Kindle/phone at lunch time. I have never been one of those people to get up
at 5am to do a devotion & drink coffee. That's just not me. I despise the
morning time. Just ask my husband. Or pretty much anyone who knows me.
Now some people may disagree with me. That you HAVE to have a set time for your
devotion or it has to be first thing when you wake up in the morning before you do
anything else. If that's your forte then by all means do it! But like I said, me &
morning ain't friends. Lyndsey also mentions this on her blog, there isn't an exact
formula on how you get your quiet time in, just that you get it in.

For example, my Dad. He told me once, he turns off the radio & talks to God on the
way to work in the morning. That is what works for him. Now if my Dad does that then
its gold in my opinion. Because my Dad is like Jesus's brother or something. Seriously.
He's the best man I know.

When I get up in the morning I'm usually praying in my head the minute I wake up.
First usually saying I hate morning!... Then I proceed to try to turn my
attitude around an thank God for a new day & all the other amazing things he has
blessed me with. This is what works for me.

Back to my main point, #SheReadsTruth. Not that I'm some super spiritual wise person but
I thought I'd share a piece of the devotion & my take on it.

Today's was titled "Practicing Petition"

The definition of petition is "a request made for something desired, especially a
respectful or humble request, as to a superior or to one of those in authority; a
supplication or prayer."

Here is some of the devotion:

"No matter how great or small your desires may seem, they are important to you,
and therefore, important to Him.

We can come to Him for safety, for wisdom, with our desires, and more. Scripture
tells us to be persistent, to approach God boldly, and to rest in knowing that
He loves us like children and wants to give us good gifts. And in the gospel,
Christ demonstrates the importance of praying that God’s will be done above all.

Thank God for being your Father who you can trust to provide and care for you.
Repent if you find that you’ve kept your petitions, needs, desires from Him.

Call to mind some things you can ask your Father for.

Be specific when you pray. Don’t be afraid that He can’t handle your needs and
desires.

Be bold in what you ask. We might forget that simply because something seems
impossible to us, nothing is impossible for our Lord.

End with the simple words, “Not my will, but yours be done.” As hard as this may
be to say, begin to trust that God has “plans to prosper you and not to harm
you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)"

I love when it says be bold in what you ask & don't think he can't handle your
needs & desires.

God wants to hear your deepest thoughts. Your fears. Your dreams. Your wants.
Everything. You should be able to talk to God just like you talk to your best
friend. He is your best friend. If you let Him be.

I love #SheReadsTruth. Its been very refreshing. & something new for me.
If you are interested in reading it you can get it on the You Version Bible app or
visit their website #SheReadsTruth.

The man can make a burger!

Yes ma'am that is a picture of delicious scrumptious cheese burger! (& yes a paper plate, dont judge!) I'm hungry just looking at it.
My husband cooked last night, which in itself is wonderful because to be honest its nice to get a break from cooking. BUT THEN he made this amazing yummy burger to top it off! Who doesn't love a good ole' fashion cheese burger?

When I make burgers I just usually buy Bubba burgers. Because they're easy. I'm all about some easy. I'm not exactly sure of everything he put in the burgers. I know some kind of seasoning, barbeque sauce (which we got in TN on our honeymoon, aw!) & an egg. He said he used the egg to hold the meat together better because it wasn't fatty enough. I bought the least fatty beef because I was trying to be healthier. Oh well!

If the man can't do anything else he can make a mean burger! (just kidding! he can do much more than cook... like vacuum.. sometimes.. hehe) I told him last night that I decided he would be cooking at least once a week, especially when he is out of his night school for the summer! He loves me.

They say "a way to a mans heart is through his stomach..", well I say what about the women?! I love food. I love it even more when I didn't have to cook it. AND even more when my hunk of a man hubs cooked it! A way to a wife's heart is definitely through making her dinner.... or washing/folding clothes... or cleaning the bathroom... ya know all those kinds of things!.... HINT HINT for the men folk!

Now don't judge me because I just made a post completely about a cheese burger. :)

Proverbs 31:30

Good Morning!
This was the "verse of the day" on my Bible app this morning. I love Proverbs 31!
Most days I fail ,but I am trying harder to be a Proverbs 31 woman.
For God, for myself, my husband & my future children one day.
Trust me, I have a longgggggggggg way to go.
But I hope one day that God can look at me an say "well done my good & faithful Proverbs 31 woman" :)

Color Mania 5K!

I am so excited to be doing the Color Mania 5K next month!

Now let me be honest with you.... I am not a runner! I go to the gym usually about 2 to 3 times a week. I mostly do cardio. When I say cardio I mean the elliptical or walking, SOME running on the treadmill. I've been trying to do some weight training also. Weight training really does help you lose weight faster than just getting on the elliptical every time you're at the gym. But sometimes I'm just lazy at the gym and I just want to get my cardio in and get out of there! Especially on the dreaded MONDAYS. Monday is the laziest day at the gym for me. I just have no motivation. But I have been trying to work on my running to get ready for this thing. Honestly its more for fun! Who wouldnt want to run around with your friends and get sprayed with all kinds of colors?! I mean come on! It'll make for great pictures too! I'm all about some pictures.

My cousin Sheanice and I are doing the run together! We've tried recruiting some other friends to do it too but apparently they think we are going to run the whole time and they're just scared of that. Definitely not running the whole time!

OH! And when you sign up you get to pick a team name. Ours is....
BUNS ON THE RUN!
How hilarious is that?! I'm thinking of making us some tshirts with our team name on them. We will see :)

I will post pictures later of this exciting event next month!

Here is the link to their site if you're interested!
